Tulja Bhavani Temple – A Source of Divine Strength
Experience the powerful spiritual vibrations at the Tulja Bhavani Temple, the family deity of the great Maratha king, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.
The Tulja Bhavani Temple, located in Tuljapur in the Osmanabad district of Maharashtra, is a highly revered Hindu shrine dedicated to the goddess Bhavani. It is considered one of the 51 Shakti Peethas and is the family deity (Kuladevi) of many families in Maharashtra, including the royal family of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, who was a fervent devotee.
The temple is situated on a hill known as Yamunachala, and its architecture is a blend of Hemadpanti and Dravidian styles. The main deity, Goddess Tulja Bhavani, is a beautiful, self-manifested (swayambhu) idol made of black stone. The goddess is depicted with eight arms, holding various weapons, and is a symbol of power and protection.

The temple attracts millions of devotees annually, especially during the Navaratri festival, which is celebrated with great pomp and ceremony. A unique tradition of the temple is the 'Chhabina' procession, a palanquin procession of the goddess that takes place on special occasions.
A pilgrimage to Tuljapur is believed to bestow courage, strength, and blessings for victory over adversities. The divine atmosphere of the temple provides a deeply spiritual and uplifting experience for all who visit.
